	The Mass Transit Railway (MTR) Since its first line operated in 1978, the MTR system is always a pride of Hong Kong -- fast, safe, reliable, clean and convenient. It is also the ideal transport for sightseeing visitors for the comprehensive coverage of the main urban attractions and clear signage of the system.

Service Area:	Mainly the urban areas of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon
Routes:	(1) Island Line: northern coastline of the Hong Kong Island (2) Tsuen Wan Line: central & western Kowloon (3) Tseung Kwan O Line: eastern Kowloon (4) Tung Chung Line: connecting the Tung Chung new town with the urban Kowloon & Hong Kong (5) All the lines are connected with a number of interchanging stations
Operation Hours:	5:55a.m. - 1:18am depending on different routes
Fares:	Adult single journey tickets range from HK$4 - HK$26 are purchased at vending machines or customer service counters
Remarks:	(1) Tickets are purchased from the Ticket Issuing Machines in all MTR stations. Special Tourist Souvenir Tickets are also available. Concession fares available for the elderly, children and Hong Kong students. (2) Passengers can interchange at Kowloon Tong for the Kowloon-Canton Railway (KCR).
