The Light Rail (LR)
LR was established in 1988 to provide local passenger transport within the northwest New Territories. It is also the only on-road mass transport carrier in Hong Kong..

Remarks: (1)   Unlike the MTR and KCR, LR operates on an open fare system. Tickets are purchased at vending machines located at the train platforms. Passengers board the trains without getting through gates or turnstiles.
