Taxis
All taxis in Hong Kong are licensed
and air-conditioned. A taxi may accommodate 4-5 passengers
depended on vehicle models. |

| Pick-up |
There are also taxi stations at train
stations, piers, large shopping centres and residential estates. Taxis cannot
stop for pick-up at bus stops or wherever a double yellow line is painted next
to the kerb. |

Taxis of different colours serve
different areas:
Red - Hong Kong Island & Kowloon; Green-New Territories; Blue-Lantau Island |
| Fares: |
Pay fares as the metre shows, but
surcharge will be added for tunnel/bridge toll, large-size luggage & pets,
etc. Price list on these charges is displayed inside the taxi. |
| Remarks: |
(1) In Hong Kong taxi fares are
relatively inexpensive than other parts of the world especially for short
rides.
(2) It may be hard to get taxis during rush hours. |
